Course Description:

 

This workshop will focus on a problem-solving approach to therapeutic handling for children with movement challenges. 

Components that come together to produce smooth movement will be reviewed and experienced for a series of developmental movement transitions.  

Therapeutic handling techniques for these developmental transitions will be instructed and practiced with the goal of advancing each participant’s skill level. 

 

 

 

Instructor Bio:

 

Amy is an honors graduate of Nassau Community College’s physical therapy assisting program (5/80) and Russell Sage College’s physical therapy program (5/89).  She has worked with children for over 25 years in a variety of settings, specializing in providing services to the 0-5 year-old population.  

Amy is certificated in neurodevelopment treatment and has assisted NDT instructor Suzanne Davis with her Baby & Young Child Courses.   She uses an eclectic approach to therapy that is strongly based on the understanding of typical development and the role that the component parts play in the achievement of a skill.
