Friday, November 29th 5:30pm – 8:30pm Learn about music theory and the history of jazz through performance of various jazz standards. Learn how to improvise, play jazz harmonies and meet people who are enthusiastic about jazz music of all kinds: Latin, Bebop, Fusion, Bosa nova and Swing. Instrument Players: Any level of experience accepted even if you have never played jazz before. If you know how to play an instrument, you can learn how to play jazz. Bring your own instrument and must be able to play that instrument comfortably. Non-Instrument Players: You are welcome to observe or join in on the discussions and listen to the music as the ensemble navigates through the improv process. These weekly sessions will be in preparation for an optional public recital to be held quarterly at CNWSMT. Ensemble will also be available to play at local events.
